Community Spotlight – Why This New Independent Living Space is Selling Fast

The Spires at Berry College just opened its doors in Rome, Georgia so Off Your Rocker host Valissa Smith pulled up a chair with Morgan Lamphere, Vice President of Marketing for Greenbrier Development to learn all about it.

This senior living communities is unique because it is connected with and located next to Berry College which has a rich history in this town of 36,000 people.  In this episode of Off Your Rocker: A SeniorVu Podcast Morgan gives a brief history lesson on Berry College that starts with a wealthy businessman and his daughter’s wish for a cabin in the woods.

The Spires name was inspired by the unique student experience at Berry College where all of them who attend must work in the community.  Many of those students are now working in every facet of The Spires from the concierge desk to the business office to the dining service.  The residents of The Spires are encouraged to intermingle with this younger generation on the Berry College campus.  Seniors are allowed to attend class there, take full advantage of the college library and become engrained in the campus.  The goal is that this intergenerational approach becomes a natural one for both the college students and the seniors living at The Spires.

The new senior living community feels a lot like a vacation resort.  There are several different types of housing from freestanding homes to cozy apartments.  There are several different restaurants to choose from daily.  Amenities include indoor pool, gym, salon and spa.  There is a beautiful patio on the edge of the large lake that is being developed with a surrounding walking path and a place to go fishing.

Find out about the magic team behind this latest Greenbrier Development and exactly how they handled all of the sales and marketing inquiries about The Spires over the last year or so!
