  1. What is something our clients in Senior Living have to deal with that you really want to fix?
    1. Sales pipeline. As a business owner I understand the importance of having a predictable and sustainable sales pipeline, which I also know it’s really hard to develop and manage.  At SeniorVu, this is the core of our business model:  generating qualified and exclusive leads for our clients that
  2. What do you do at SeniorVu? (What do you interact with clients about?  How do you try to make them feel when they’re working with you?)
    1. I am responsible for establishing the vision and strategy of the organization, as well as serving and supporting any team member needing assistance in providing more value to our clients.
  3. What are your credentials/past experience, for working in your position? (Sometimes, in the field experience can give you an edge over book learning. Do you have an unfair advantage, or another discipline, that you bring to your position?)
    1. Being the youngest of six, I had the privilege of learning from my siblings. From an early age I was encouraged to understand the importance discipline, priorities and love.  In running a business for the past 20 years, I put those values to work, just as we did as a family when our parents grew old and had to deal with their ailments.  The compromising state of aging is only getting bigger and I’m grateful to be leading our purpose in delivering innovations to sustain the level of care for the industry.

  1. What is something our clients in Senior Living have to deal with that you really want to fix?  Eliminate ANY and ALL reliance on 3rd party referral companies to supplement their occupancy needs.
  2. What do you do at SeniorVu?  (What do you interact with clients about?  How do you try to make them feel when they’re working with you?) My job is two-fold. Firstly to make sure that our team has all the resources and tools to help families navigate this difficult time and secondly, to absolutely delight our clients by helping them solve very difficult occupancy problems
  3. What are your credentials/past experience, for working in your position? (Sometimes, in the field experience can give you an edge over book learning.  Do you have an unfair advantage, or another discipline, that you bring to your position?) As an aging Baby Boomer who has had to help my own family navigate assisted living needs, I make sure to offer that perspective in all we do.

  1. What is something our clients in Senior Living have to deal with that you really want to fix?

Ultimately it’s about giving wonderful people more time to care for and serve our loved ones. Our clients typically don’t have the luxury of having software developers at their disposal and this prevents them from doing a multitude of things that they may not even know are possible.  For example, automating the handling of a diverse collection of referral sources so that they all flow into an easy to use platform is usually not something that they are even asking for but it makes an immediate and noticeable impact on their daily life.

  1. What do you do at SeniorVu?

My job is to make sure our team is building and delivering tools that make a profound difference on our clients by making things simple – not more complex.

  1. What are your credentials/past experience, for working in your position? (Sometimes, in the field experience can give you an edge over book learning. Do you have an unfair advantage, or another discipline, that you bring to your position?)

In the last 20 years I’ve had the privilege of building software in a variety of industries and been extremely fortunate to learn so much along the way. From business school to enterprise document management software to Big Data analytics in the mobile space, I’ve relied heavily on active listening and intellectual curiosity to quickly grow and improve my understanding of this business.  The past three years in the senior living industry is no exception and I definitely still have a lot to learn.

50% intellectual, 25% visionary, 25% athlete

Sounds pretty accurate to me!

  1. What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? (What do you do that makes you “human”; alive and excited?)

Although it may sound like a pretty generic answer, I really do enjoy spending time with my family.  Recently it’s been amazing to see the pure joy that comes with so many firsts for my twins – jumping off the diving board, riding a bike with no training wheels, walking into Kindergarten on their own, reading a book.   On a related note, quiet time is something that I’m looking forward to enjoying again someday.

  1. What is something our clients in Senior Living have to deal with that you really want to fix? Community salespeople often feel overwhelmed and out of control! I vividly remember this feeling. I want to help them get time back in their day so more energy can be given to their residents.
  2. What do you do at SeniorVu? (What do you interact with clients about?  How do you try to make them feel when they’re working with you?) VP of Client Success—my team ensures that each client receives and recognizes the value that SeniorVu has to offer their communities. Ultimately, I want every client to feel heard and valued.
  3. What are your credentials/past experience, for working in your position? (Sometimes, in the field experience can give you an edge over book learning. Do you have an unfair advantage, or another discipline, that you bring to your position?) I started in the senior living industry as a teenager. I’ve been in and out of the industry since then but I always seem to come back. I also think my diverse career experience—everything from an art gallery director to a personal assistant to a restaurant server—allows me to think about challenges in a uniquely creative way.
  4. What’s your Archetype? (this is a fun way for people to know a little bit about the mix of people on the leadership team…at least I THINK it will be a mix!  I don’t have a dominant characteristic…36% intellectual, 35% creative, 29% caregiver.  https://www.archetypes.com/quiz/
  5. What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? (What do you do that makes you “human”; alive and excited?) Enjoying the outdoors and being physically active with my family. I also like redecorating, rearranging our home and reading true crime books.

  1. What is something our clients in Senior Living have to deal with that you really want to fix?

I want to help them understand the different avenues of digital marketing. Most Senior Living communities/brands don’t monitor their website traffic, and for the most part it can be one of the best performing channels with the right tools.

  1. What do you do at SeniorVu? (What do you interact with clients about?  How do you try to make them feel when they’re working with you?)

I am the Director of Digital Marketing. I interact with clients on digital strategies to maximize their online presences. I want our clients to feel empowered. They know senior living, and we know digital marketing. Combining our knowledge is ideal for a strong lead generation and nurturing strategy.

  1. What are your credentials/past experience, for working in your position? (Sometimes, in the field experience can give you an edge over book learning. Do you have an unfair advantage, or another discipline, that you bring to your position?)

Before Digital Marketing, I spent 6 years as a golf professional in Chicago and Kansas City. My merchandising experience helped me to understand the power of the right message at the right time in the digital world. I learned what customers were looking for and I would order apparel and such to appease them. Knowing Mr. Smith liked white polos and he always played at 9am on Tuesday, I’d rearrange the pro shop accordingly to display our white polos. My first year there, I was able to increase pro shop apparel sales by 50%.
