What is something our clients in Senior Living have to deal with that you really want to fix?

Sales pipeline. As a business owner I understand the importance of having a predictable and sustainable sales pipeline, which I also know it’s really hard to develop and manage.  At SeniorVu, this is the core of our business model:  generating qualified and exclusive leads for our clients.

What do you do at SeniorVu?

I am responsible for establishing the vision and strategy of the organization, as well as serving and supporting any team member needing assistance in providing more value to our clients.

What are your credentials/past experience, for working in your position?

Being the youngest of six, I had the privilege of learning from my siblings. From an early age I was encouraged to understand the importance discipline, priorities and love.  In running a business for the past 20 years, I put those values to work, just as we did as a family when our parents grew old and had to deal with their ailments.  The compromising state of aging is only getting bigger and I’m grateful to be leading our purpose in delivering innovations to sustain the level of care for the industry.

What is something our clients in Senior Living have to deal with that you really want to fix?

Eliminate ANY and ALL reliance on 3rd party referral companies to supplement their occupancy needs.

What do you do at SeniorVu?

My job is two-fold. Firstly to make sure that our team has all the resources and tools to help families navigate this difficult time and secondly, to absolutely delight our clients by helping them solve very difficult occupancy problems

What are your credentials/past experience, for working in your position?

As an aging Baby Boomer who has had to help my own family navigate assisted living needs, I make sure to offer that perspective in all we do.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

We live on a small farm so time away from work is spent on the tractor mowing when it’s warm and fixing things when it’s cold. It’s also a great time to ‘think’

What is something our clients in Senior Living have to deal with that you really want to fix?

The world of a community marketer/salesperson is tough. Knowing which prospects are worthy of their valuable time has historically been a game of feel and intuition,  but strengthening the connections between marketing and sales data can be magical when executed properly, and we’re doing just that!

What do you do at SeniorVu?

I have two main roles; first is to ensure that we’re executing in delivering value to our clients, and second is to provide our internal teams with the tools, resources and guidance that they need to be successful.

What are your credentials/past experience, for working in your position?

Before entering the ‘real world’ world almost nine years ago, I was a touring musician and ran a freelance music production company. That experience of working with various groups to create a product that everyone was proud of taught me some valuable lessons about drive, dedication and teamwork.

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

As a father of three awesome kids under four, any time I’m not working is spent with them, both showing them the world and listening and learning from them. Before kids I was still involved in the local music scene, and I’d love to get active again once the kiddos are a few years older!

What is something our clients in Senior Living have to deal with that you really want to fix?

Community salespeople often feel overwhelmed and out of control! I vividly remember this feeling. I want to help them get time back in their day so more energy can be given to their residents.

What do you do at SeniorVu?

VP of Client Success—my team ensures that each client receives and recognizes the value that SeniorVu has to offer their communities. Ultimately, I want every client to feel heard and valued.

What are your credentials/past experience, for working in your position?

I started in the senior living industry as a teenager. I’ve been in and out of the industry since then but I always seem to come back. I also think my diverse career experience—everything from an art gallery director to a personal assistant to a restaurant server—allows me to think about challenges in a uniquely creative way.

What is something our clients in Senior Living have to deal with that you really want to fix?

I want to help them understand the different avenues of digital marketing. Most Senior Living communities/brands don’t monitor their website traffic, and for the most part it can be one of the best performing channels with the right tools.

What do you do at SeniorVu?

I am the Director of Digital Marketing. I interact with clients on digital strategies to maximize their online presences. I want our clients to feel empowered. They know senior living, and we know digital marketing. Combining our knowledge is ideal for a strong lead generation and nurturing strategy.

What are your credentials/past experience, for working in your position?

Before Digital Marketing, I spent 6 years as a golf professional in Chicago and Kansas City. My merchandising experience helped me to understand the power of the right message at the right time in the digital world. I learned what customers were looking for and I would order apparel and such to appease them. Knowing Mr. Smith liked white polos and he always played at 9am on Tuesday, I’d rearrange the pro shop accordingly to display our white polos. My first year there, I was able to increase pro shop apparel sales by 50%.

What is something our clients in Senior Living have to deal with that you really want to fix?

I’m so grateful for caregivers. Caregivers are the most important people in this industry, in my opinion, and I want to help them stay focused on the seniors. Whenever those inside the community are pulled away to answer phones or emails or chase leads is less time loving on seniors.

What do you do at SeniorVu?

I am SeniorVu’s VP, Strategic Communication. Communication in every aspect of life is challenging and rolling out new technology to support senior living companies is no exception.  It’s our responsibility to show them how we can make their business more efficient, more productive and cost effective.  The hardest part to convey is why they should trust us.  Trust is extremely important to this industry and takes time. That’s why we’re so transparent. Our technology allows our client communities to see every day what we produce for them. It’s a huge piece of our success.

What are your credentials/past experience, for working in your position?

My first career was Broadcast Journalism.  Telling stories is so powerful. Even though I ended my on-air television days after 24 years, I didn’t stopped telling stories through video, print and speaking engagements. When I joined SeniorVu in 2016 I had just lost my mother to cancer and had a 92-year old father who needed care. I was that adult child looking for answers.  I totally understood the need for senior living and learning about the struggles in the industry, I was hooked on SeniorVu’s solutions. I still am!

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

I enjoy spending time with my family, in my home and traveling.  I married my best friend in 1986 and we still like each other! Our girls are adults now with careers in education.  If we aren’t traveling – just the two of us – then we are traveling with our daughters or with my sisters and their families.   Otherwise cuddling up in our cottage is right where I want to be.
